Nowadays it’s pretty common for a decent chunk of a tech worker’s compensation to be paid as equity in the company. However, the value, laws, and strategy about handling equity tend to be more complicated than it seems on the surface.
Yesterday, a good chunk of my day went into installing Linux. It was supposed to be a quick task: install it and be done. However, a few mistakes here and there cost me hours of time, and I was quite upset. Writing this blog post is a means of catharsis.
